Each year 3 board member positions are available for elections. This year the following positions are up for election, all for a 2 year term:
- Vice-President – position currently vacant as Kathleen Brophy aka Bajabetty had to step into the President position.
- Treasurer – Position is currently filled by Mad Friesen of Ricnmad, who is stepping down this year.
- Director at Large – Position currently filled by Derek Campbell of GeoNavPros. He is standing for re-election.
The nomination period will run from April 15-May 6th.
To be nominated for a position on the board, you must be a member in good standing and you must be nominated by a member in good standing. Nominations are done by an online form, which can be found HERE.
Nominations are received by our Returning Officer Ian Berg (layzee_bones).
Please consider standing for a position. We need volunteers to keep the organization going. We are only as good as the volunteers we have, and can do a lot more for the community with a strong volunteer base. What happens next?
If there is only one nomination for a position, that person will be accepted by acclamation.
If there is more than one nomination for a position, there will be a vote. All members in good standing by May 8th will be able to take part in our voting process.
Voting is conducted using SimplyVoting, a third party, online voting mechanism. Our voting period is from May 20th to May 27th.
By May 10th you will receive the notice of our meeting, which will give you further instructions.
